Tim is our submerged habitat expert and his education and experience regarding marine ecosystems is unparalleled. His knowledge is highly regarded in the industry and is invaluable during our submerged concrete repair dives such as the series of dives that Deep South Divers performed recently at the Georgia Aquarium.

Tim was originally certified in March of 2009, due to the necessity to dive large coral reef aquariums that he designs, builds and maintains through his company, Northeast Arkansas Reef Concepts. Upon receiving his PADI Open Water certification, he quickly caught the bug and began taking as many classes as he was able to squeeze into his busy work schedule.

Having been a former white water guide in the Appalachian mountains for several years - as well as an avid rock climber and spelunker - scuba diving was the next logical progression for him, and he's currently in the process of obtaining a Full Cave certification. His only real problem however, is choosing between being underwater with a gas tube stuffed into his mouth or ripping around the country on two wheels to the tune of 20-25,000 miles per year. It's so much easier than traveling across country on a bicycle; he knows - he did it back in 1985!

Due to the way in which he has built and refined his business over the past several years, he's been very fortunate to be able to ride his motorcycles around the country and live out his dream - accessing and controlling the aquariums that are in his charge via an iPad which allows him to access high-end aquarium controllers via custom apps. When he's playin', he's still workin'!

According to Tim, "Life is all about LOVING what you're doing... If you're not being challenged and happy doing it, then it's time to move on to something else that WILL challenge you to the fullest extent." Hence, he lives by two primary motos in life:

  1. If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space.
  2. Knowing your limits is restricting your potential.

Nicely said, Tim!
